Comment: Pretty crappy RDC. The warehouse (chilled) is darker than a cave during a power cut. Breath too hard and your lungs will fill with years of dust. My advice is to wear a paint-sprayer's spray suit while onsite, then just throw it on the floor before you leave.
Some of the staff are a good laugh and will happily chat a while, and others are damn right dangerous! One of our drivers was nearly knocked over by a staffer who was driving their electric pallet truck on the official walkway. Again, the consistent gloominess of the warehouse didn't help.
Of the 10-12 times I've been here I've never been able to tip my load in front of my bay, and usually had to drag the pallets 5 or 6 bays further along. This is because the warehouse staff are useless at counting the pallets (not enough fingers), then removing the stock to the warehouse itself (not enough brain cells).
The yard is usually strewn with rubbish that has been blown out of the many over-filled Biffa bins, and gives the place a very distinctive dystopian vibe.
