Comment: On-screen booking in system doesn't give you a bay, and hasn't for months. So, enter your details on the screen then proceed to the Transport Office as indicated. This isn't too much hassle though as the staff are pleasant and friendly. Once on the bay pop your keys on the dog-clip next to the bay then make your way back to the Transport Office. The benches are plain metal - no cushioning - but are OK as the warehouse staff are usually quick to tip so you don't have to wait too long. There's a vending machine for hot drinks, which costs 30p or more. There's a food vending machine, but it's never filled, and hasn't been for years. There's no microwave, nor is there a sink to wash your pots, etc. The toilets are OK, but they're designed for wheelchair users rather than your typical HGV driver, and you will need to bend a knee to both wash and dry your hands.
Although they tell you not to wait in your cab there's not much to stop you from doing it. There is sometimes a member of security patrolling around the yard, and if they see you in your cab under a red light they will ask you to return to the Transport office. They'll write your registration number down, but I have no idea what they do beyond that.
All in all not too bad a site, but they do need to sort the vending machine situation out.
