Yard was blocked with curtains who ignored me when I asked them to move so I can get on my bay.
Office staff are great. Warehouse staff are lower than animals - one of them spat phlegm in the washroom sink and just left it there. Dirty bustard. They all look like they'd fail a drugs test.

Like most Sainsburys RDCs this one has the booking in system at the gate, and like most Sainsburys RDCs it only takes your details and rarely gives you a bay to use, so drive round the Transport Office and hand over your paperwork in exchange for a bay. Getting on the bay can be a challenge as the layout of the yard means curtain-siders block the yard for the chill bays as they queue up waiting for their own bays further along the warehouse..

The Inbound office is dark and dingy, with a sign next to the door asking you not to slam the door; because the door closer-thingy doesn't work properly and slams the door if left to close by itself. This has been an issue for at least 7 years that I know of, and speaks volumes about the general condition of this RDC!

Once you've booked in and you keys are on the hook next to your bay you have to go in the porta-cabin outside. This cabin contains the usual stained tables along with equally stained chairs. If you're lucky you may be able to sneak back into your cab and climb on your bunk, but be careful! If the warehouse staff member who is unloading thinks you're in your cab while he's tipping you he'll come out and open your door with your keys and climb in (!?!?!) to get you out! And he'll refuse to continue until you do. (contrast this to Sainsburys Dartford!)

The toilets are shared with the warehouse staff, of whom I've yet to see one wash their hands before going back into the warehouse, and are in pretty poor state. My advice is to use the toilets when you first get there then use the time you're waiting to be tipped to dry your boots so you're not getting any of it in your cab.

There's no way to know you've got a green light again without checking the bay for yourself. This means you have to go from from the (relative) safety of the porta-cabin through the overcrowded yard to check every ten minutes or so.

On a similar theme because there's so many drivers wandering around between the lorries you never know if any equipment you have will still be there when you get back to yours. We've had several Anderson leads stolen (while plugged in and powering our trailers) as well as fuel caps, etc. I spoke to one driver who told me he had his ABS and trailer lamp cables stolen rendering him unable to move until replacements were sourced. This is the only Sainsburys RDC where we've had this problem.

All in all a very depressing site with absolutely no redeeming features.
